Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage a team of warehouse supervisors and staff to ensure efficient, safe, and effective warehouse operations.
- Oversee and assign tasks related to warehouse functions, including planning, implementation, and improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
- Manage labor expenses, monitor payroll, and ensure staffing levels meet business demands.
- Execute and uphold established safety and security programs, including overseeing compliance with safety policies and participation in the Safety Committee.
- Inspect the physical condition of warehouse facilities and equipment, recommending repairs, maintenance, or replacement as necessary.
- Develop, document, and enforce standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, and shipping metal stamped products and materials.
- Partner with other departments, including Customer Service, Production, and Transportation, to support customer orders and ensure service levels are met.
- Review operational issues that impact costs and customer service, and implement solutions to address challenges.
- Host and manage local, state, and federal inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Review requests for special warehouse services and evaluate feasibility.
- Ensure fair, consistent, and equitable treatment of all warehouse employees in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership, training, and guidance to the warehouse team, including conducting interviews, hiring, performance reviews, and employee development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of warehouse or distribution center management experience, with specific experience in a manufacturing or metal stamping environment preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years in a leadership role, with a demonstrated ability to develop and manage teams.
- Experience with SAP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
- Knowledge of logistics for metal stamped products, including inventory management, quality control, and shipping protocols.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- High level of organizational planning, communication, teamwork, and adaptability.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse operations in a manufacturing or metal stamping company preferred.
